Newsletter - EN: BIM design for efficient and transparent development and management of construction investments

In the year that is ending, we at PROTIM have successfully continued with implementing integrated design of investment projects for our clients from the initial concept to the project close out. A comprehensive approach of covering all phases from the beginning to end of the project is a key condition for the investment cost management and optimization of costs throughout the building’s life cycle.

As one of our internal goals this year, we have set system foundation for using Building Information Modeling (BIM) in all our expert disciplines: from preparation of master plans, implementation on the construction site and on to facility management. From the initial phases of the project BIM design assures transparency as well as enables a more active involvement of investors and end-users. BIM structures and coordinates interdisciplinary processes, which furthermore enables cost reduction and a more transparent project supervision. BIM supported project documentation also features one very important comparative advantage – a significantly faster construction.

We are concluding the year 2016 with a number of successfully completed projects in manufacturing and retail industries, spatial and infrastructure planning as well as interior design. To name a few, we have produced a master plan for a new NOVA LAMA and LIP BLED manufacturing location, developed new manufacturing facilities for ELTAS and VITLI KRPAN as well as prepared the project documentation and obtained a building permit for 90 sheltered apartments in Bled. We also produced a municipal detailed spatial plan for the CAMPSITE PERUN near Jesenice and designed a wastewater sewage network for a local community in the Municipality of Žirovnica. In addition, we have prepared several interesting interior designs.
