Frankfurt - The GreenBuilding Integrated Design Award was handed out for the first time during the IEECB conference (Improving Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings).

According to Klemens Leutgöb, director of e7 Energie Markt Analyse GmbH, "the award honors outstanding design processes for sustainable buildings". Applications came from all over Europe.

The judges: Mrs Iva Kovacic (TU Vienna, Austria), Mr Mattheos Santamouris (NKUA, Greece) and Mr Andy Sutton (BRE, UK) paid tribute to PROTIM and the investor for the Plus Energy Business Building Kobra in Slovenia"They proved that by setting clear criteria in the early design phase a high quality in sustainability such as economic efficiency can be achieved."

The award is a part of the GreenBuilding Programme, an European Commission initiative, which openly communicates the importance of optimized integrated design processes in achieving energy efficient buildings.
